Roland Berger reste independant

Roland Berger reste independant

Objet: Passion for our Partnership!

Dear Alumni,

Last Saturday we have held our extraordinary Partner Meeting to discuss the possibility to merge our firm with the strategy consulting line of one of the world's largest professional service firms. This opportunity would have been a strategic move with the potential to make us the second largest strategy consultancy of the world right from the start, with a sound perspective to become no. 1 through committed investments in people and growth.

With an overwhelming majority of the Partners, close to 100 per cent, our firm has decided to stay an independent partnership.

This decision is the result of an extensive as well as constructive discussion. The Partners saw the advantages of cooperation in terms of scale, scope and the opportunities to extend our value chain. But in the end, our Partners came to the conclusion that our values, our entrepreneurial spirit and the drive of our firm is so unique, that we should not put it at risk in this potential merger.

On the contrary: Our discussion shows that our DNA enables us to further grow and develop our firm stand alone and successfully exploit the opportunities of our markets. Moreover, the Partners including Roland decided to expand their financial commitments to the firm. This will bring us into a position to even more powerfully realize the next "Masterplan for Growth". Having made the decision last weekend, we will now finalize this approach jointly and decide upon the details at the International Partner Meeting in December.

We will keep you posted.

Best regards,
Yours

Martin and Burkhard for the Executive Committee and the Supervisory Board
Dr. Martin C. Wittig, Chief Executive Officer
Prof. Dr. Burkhard Schwenker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board
